Reading the archive needs no account and asks nothing of you. What is stored is what you hand over: an address if you sign up for the morning email, a message if you write in.

What is stored, and only if you give it

The roll. If you sign up for the morning email, the archive keeps your name, your address, and the armies, formats and kinds of report you picked, so that the right email can be sent. They are not sold, shared or passed to anyone else.

Correspondence. If you write to techpriests@librariummilitaris.com, the message and the address it came from sit in a mailbox until the matter is closed.

What is stored on your own machine

Two cookies, both first-party and neither identifying you. One remembers that you asked for results to be shown, so a page arrives in the state you left it in; it is set only when you ask. The other is a session cookie that stops the sign-up form being submitted from another site.

Counting visits

Visits are counted with Fathom Analytics: how many people arrive, and which pages they read. Fathom sets no cookie and builds no profile across sites, and nothing you type into the archive is passed to it.

YouTube

Video is embedded through youtube-nocookie.com, which sets no advertising cookie before you press play. Once you do, Google's terms govern that playback rather than these. Thumbnails come from YouTube's image servers, requested without a referrer, so the request does not say which page you were reading.

Asking for it back

Write to techpriests@librariummilitaris.com to see what is held about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Deletion is honoured without argument and without asking why, and removal from the roll is the same request by a shorter name.

Every morning email carries a link that does it without writing to anyone. Following it takes one click and deletes the record; the address is not kept on a list of addresses not to write to.
